A sub-status is a refinement of a status. When a user picks a status that has linked sub-statuses, they pick a more specific reason: "In a meeting" then "Client call", "Internal", or "1-on-1".
Overview
Sub-statuses add finer presence detail without bloating the status changer. A sub-status never stands alone, it is only ever picked under an active parent, and it has no availability group of its own. You link sub-statuses to a parent on the parent status's form, and one sub-status can be reused across many parents.
What it does
A sub-status adds descriptive detail on top of its parent without touching call routing. The combined pill (parent plus sub-status) tells colleagues what kind of meeting or break it is, and reports break the time down by sub-status so Meeting - Client call is counted separately from Meeting - Internal.
