Sound files is the dashboard that groups the three types of audio your PBX uses: Announcements (spoken-word audio for IVRs and call flows), Music on hold (calming audio for waiting callers), and Default music on hold (the tenant-wide hold-music default).
Overview
Sound files is a navigational hub, not an entity of its own. Each card opens a dedicated entity page:
| Card | What it manages | Page |
|---|---|---|
| Announcements | Spoken-word audio referenced by IVRs and call flow steps. Uploaded recordings or AI-generated TTS. | Announcements |
| Music on hold | Audio loops played to callers in queues, on parked calls, during transfers. | Music on hold |
| Default music on hold | The PBX-wide default hold-music file, used when no override is set. | Default music on hold |
What it does
The three categories differ by what the audio is for, not how it was created. All are audio files stored the same way (MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC up to 20 MB, down-converted to telephony codecs at runtime), but the PBX offers them in the right context: an IVR's announcement picker shows only announcements, not hold music.
