An overtime declaration in Tempus is one employee's claim of overtime worked within a specific period, the input from which overtime accumulates before the end-of-period reconciliation.
Overview
Declarations can be self-filed by the employee in the Voxbi app or entered by HR on the employee's behalf. The page is where HR reviews the running list across all employees and can edit or create entries. A declaration must reference a period in Open status, and it links to a decision when the period closes.
What it does
Two hour fields are treated differently downstream:
| Field | Treatment |
|---|---|
| Overtime hours | Feed the compensatory balance or cash payout at the period decision, depending on configuration. |
| Cashpot hours | Feed a separate cashpot pool paid out as cash at period end, never banked as time-off. Most tenants leave this empty. |
Declarations are inputs, not balances. The contract balance changes only when the decision is processed at period close, so editing declared hours before then is fine but editing them after the decision has no retroactive effect. If overtime is reported after a period closes, HR reopens the period or pushes the hours into the next one.
