A holiday request is the employee-initiated workflow for booking vacation, sick leave, parental leave, or any other absence type. The Holiday requests page is the HR and manager inbox for those filings.
The request is the proposal, the absence is the result. Until approved, the requested days do not appear as time off, though they reserve quota and may block colleagues from booking conflicting days.
Overview
This page is restricted to Admin and HR for cross-cutting visibility, manual approvals, and overrides. Department managers approve their own team's requests from a separate inbox in the Voxbi app. From the list you can filter by company, employee, status, or date range, open a request for full context (quota, colleague conflicts, documents), approve or reject, and view a calendar visualization.
What it does
The flow is linear: a request sits as Pending until a manager approves or rejects it.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Filed, quota reserved but not consumed. |
| Approved | Materializes as an absence, quota consumed, days on the calendar. |
| Rejected | No absence created, reserved quota released, employee notified. |
The calendar view (from the employee-column link) highlights the requested days alongside public holidays, other employees' approved absences, and the current quota balance, so you can spot coverage gaps before approving.
